A user will still have constant access to their system though and data can be transferred while it is still running. The same setup could also be accessed from a number of different locations. This can allow for much greater bandwidth capabilities. If all the users where connected to the same location then downloading would be limited to that of the network backbone. If the same information where being accessed from two different end points however you would get double the bandwidth.
The main drawback of cloud server hosting is that you do not have direct access to the system beyond what you can access via the control panel. This means that you cannot access data such as log files. The advantage however is that you do not need as many specialist staff to operate it and this leads to an even greater saving in cost.
